Whew....we're finally back in Lubbock from our Thanksgiving trip.
We left last Saturday to go to DFW and came back today, so we had lots of time to spend with family and friends. And malls. Which really are like family and friends to me.
And speaking of malls, this was the first time I've ever particpated in "Black Friday" shopping. I woke up at 5 am to go shop for bargains. It was weird and surreal to see the mall so busy and crowded before the sun was even up. And, it was really bizarre to see people standing in line at Subway in the foodcourt at 6 am. Unfortunately, I didn't buy any Christmas presents--just stuff for me. :) But, to my defense, it was stuff I needed. I bought myself some new house shoes b/c the ones I had had tears and holes all on the bottom. And, I bought a new coat and some new luggage for my upcoming trip to England. Woohoo!
On this trip, not only did we get to spend lots of quality time with our families, but we were also fortunate enough to spend some time with some great friends. We went to our friends, the Andersons, the night we got into town to watch the Tech/OU slaughtering. The game was disappointing, but we enjoyed seeing Scott and Beth and the kids. Then, Sunday night, we went to dinner with (most) of our old small group from our old church. We haven't seen most of them since we moved back in July, so it was so good to get together with them! Then, on Tuesday night we went to dinner with our friends Tim and Sarah--with NO kids! We went to Texas de Brazil and it was SO good. And, as a bonus, it was nice to go out to dinner to a restaurant that didn't have a kids menu!
All of this and I didn't take not one picture! How unlike me! But I do have a picture to share. I almost feel like I'm leaving my post naked if I don't have a picture to go along with it. I stole this one from Teresa's blog--this is our small group pic.
Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!
