Chit Chat.....

This has been a crazy busy week for me at work. This is the first time I'm running the big reports on my own for my new job. It's taking me forever and I have had the biggest headache, but I believe I'll get through it. And, I'm looking forward to the holiday on Monday!

Landry is finishing up her second week of Pre-K. I am so amazed at what she has already learned. She already knows a lot of Spanish, she has learned how to spell several sight words, and she has learned the alphabet in sign language. Crazy! I'm afraid she's going to be bored in Kindergarten. She loves to learn, though, so she is having a great time in her class.

I watched two movies the past few days. Fun With Dick and Jane was one of them. I thought it was hilarious. I was LOL a lot! The other one was The Family Stone. I heard from several people that this was fabulous, but I just thought it was okay.....it was definitely better than anything on TV last night.

Korley started eating solid food last night. She wasn't too thrilled with just the rice cereal on its own, so I added some green beans. She LOVED the green beans. In fact, she boo-hooed like she had a broken heart after she finished the last bite. Here are a couple of pics of her first meal:

OH WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!!!

WEATHER

It's 9:45 am; I just looked out the window and it looks like midnight. Hallelujah! I really thought if it was 100+ today that I might have to commit myself into a psych ward. I HATE being hot and I have been constantly burning up on fire for the last month.

I took Landry and Korley to the mall on Saturday. Before we got out of the car my car thermometer read 103 degrees. As we were walking in Landry said, "Mommy, someone needs to change the weather!!". I said, "I KNOW!!" She said, "Who can we get to change the weather?" and I said, "Only God can do that." She said, "How can he do that?" And I said, "Well, you have to pray to him if you want him to change the weather."

So, she stopped in the parking lot, bowed her head and put her "prayer hands" together and said "Dear God, PLEASE don't make it sunshiney anymore. I am REALLY HOT. Amen."
And we then continued on into the mall.

WEEKEND

We had a nice weekend. Friday night was our neighborhood ladies Bunco night. So fun! I didn't win anything this time, but we had a great time. I took Landry and Korley to the mall on Saturday. Both of them were SO good at the mall. Saturday night we met our friends Horace and Christy for a great Cajun dinner. Good times! Yesterday we went to church and then lunch and last night we went to our friends house for our fantasy football draft. Good food, good friends, good fun! I drafted Tony Romo for my last pick....... :)

TV

Woohoo!! The Office won best comedy. Very well deserved! I HEART THIS SHOW!!!! And, I don't watch 24, but my mom thinks it's the best show in the history of television, so I'm glad that 24 won. Plus, I like Keifer Sutherland.

Have a great Monday!

President of the Kenli Fan Club

Landry is the biggest fan of Lindsay's friend, Kenli.

A few weeks ago when we were at my sister's house, Landry found a gorgeous hand-drawing of an elephant that Kenli drew for Lindsay. She wanted to have it, but Lindsay said that maybe she could get Kenli to draw something for her.

So, a few days ago, two pencil drawings arrived in the mail for Landry. One was a drawing of a bunch of whales (her favorite animal--besides dinosaurs, of course) and one was a turtle. Not only was she excited about the drawings, but she was excited to get mail.

Below is a picture of Landry and her new favorite pictures (which I wouldn't let her color!!) and one of her sitting on the floor staring at the whales picture. Too cute!

THANK YOU, KENLI!!!! You made her week!

TGIF

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I'm so glad this week is over. Nothing super serious or majorly bad has happened this week, but it's just been one of those "blah" weeks where things just aren't going right. Plus, it's so dang hot. I like the summer and all, but seriously, this is ridiculous! I'm looking forward to having a weekend to "reset". I could go on and on for the rest of this post about the bad, but instead I'll try to focus on the good. Here goes.....

1) Korley slept through the night TWO times this week! She slept 11 hours each time. This was a very big deal for us. Last night however, she woke up at 2:45 am bright-eyed and bushy tailed and ready to start her day!

2) Landry started her Pre-K class on Monday and is really enjoying it. She loves her new teacher and she is loving the fun things they are doing in class. She really loves that her teacher, Miss Jennifer, fixes Landry's hair in a bun when she gets too hot. It's the small things that make Landry happy.... :)

3) We're going to meet my old college roommate and her husband and baby for dinner tomorrow night. I don't get to see her as often as I would like, so we're looking forward to spending some time with them.

Y'all have a great weekend!

Korley at four months

Korley is four months old now (plus a few days). It is amazing how fast her infancy has gone. The first few (extremely) sleepless, colicky weeks seemed at the time to have gone on forever and then before I knew it, she was four months old.

The past few weeks she has been a perfect baby. She usually only cries if she is hungry, her mouth hurts, or if she wants to be held. If she is being held she is generally very content.

I took her to the mall today to have her four month pictures taken. It was probably one of the best experiences I have ever had at the portrait studio. She was in a great mood and the photographer was very patient. The only problem we had was that she constantly wanted to suck on her hand-other than that, she was perfect.

Here's the results..... (fyi, these are before all of the "editing").

I actually threatened my daughter earlier with......

"Landry, if you go brush your teeth you are NOT getting a snack!!"

She has been driving us crazy lately wanting to brush her teeth. She thinks that ANYtime she eats ANYthing with sugar she IMMEDIATELY needs to brush her teeth. She ate a lollipop on the way home from school today and once she got in the house wanted some crackers for a snack, but insisted on brushing her teeth first. I guess it's weird that I'm complaining about this, but seriously, it's driving me nuts!!

Below are some pictures I took yesterday of Korley and Landry. Korley is really into grabbing onto her toes and trying to get them to her mouth. Actually, these days as bad as she's teething she's trying to get pretty much anything to her mouth!

Hola!

We're back from Mexico. I missed my kids dearly, but wouldn't have minded staying in Mexico an extra couple of days. We had a great time. It was relaxing and tons of fun. The place we stayed at was great! Even the food was good!

A few days before we left Korley's first tooth came in (she wasn't even 4 months old yet!!). By the time we got back on Saturday, two more teeth came in. She is barely four months old and already has three teeth! And, in case you are wondering.....yes, she is drooling like Niagra Falls.....yes, she is chewing on anything she can (her hands have hickies on them!)....yes, they hurt her....yes, my mom got up with her about every hour and a half one night while Jeff and I were in Mexico. Bless her heart....both Korley AND my mom!! ;)

Landry had fun while we were gone, too, since she got to stay with both sets of grandparents for a while. She was super pumped yesterday when I gave her her "surprise". It was a family of little wooden painted turtles and their heads bobble on their own. I got her a "Daddy", "Mommy", "Landry", and "Korley" turtle. She's carried them EVERYWHERE the past 24 hours!!

Work was super stressful today. I had basically been gone a week and a half and returned to 230 new emails AND I started my new job today AND I'm still doing my old one until Aug. 21. Also, my new job before me was done by two and a half people so I have a lot to learn!

Have a great week everyone!
