OCD and me

I have to admit that I was both looking forward and not looking forward to this weekend.

I planned on putting up my Christmas tree this weekend, which I was looking forward to. And, we offered to dog-sit for our friends' dog, which I was not looking forward to.

However, up was down and down was up this weekend.

The dog, Belle, was plain delightful. She is cute, little, cuddly, non-shedding, non-barking, and only needs to be let out seldomly. If any kind of dog is my kind of dog, it is this one--super low maintenance! The girls had a blast with her. They carried her most of the time, had her be a "baby", walked her, played outside with her--Belle ought to be pooped for the next few days.

The Christmas decorations were a whole other story. I know it's a little early to be putting out the Christmas stuff, but since the is the LAST weekend I'm going to be in town until January (yikes!), this was the only time I had to do it. Everything has been in our storage shed since we moved here. And, since we didn't do any of our packing, we had random Christmas decorations in several different boxes.

So, all of *THIS* took me about 6 hours to find and put up. In all honestly, due to my OCD, I spent most of the day rearranging stuff that was still packed in boxes with other like items. For instance, a crow bar packed with pool floaties packed with old Halloween costumes packed with file folders was unorganizational chaos that I could not ignore!

Needless to say, Christmas decorating this year didn't go as according to plan! But, the tree is up and the mantle is done. Granted, it's on a smaller scale than what I usually do, but it's done!

And, just for the sake of randomness--here is Korley just hanging out on a Sunday morning in her Sunday finest!

I didn't get my Christmas stuff out this weekend after all. Now I am stuck trying to find a time over a weekend to do it...and preferably not the weekend of Christmas! It looks great!

The things that you are OCD about in your life now were no where to be seen in your teen life; you make me so proud! Your decorations look really pretty; a tree and mantle may be all I get done this year as well. Love and miss you guys!
