My sister left yesterday for her six- month stint in England. My family (the original Hall 5) were all in DFW over the weekend to wish her farewell.
We had a great weekend! We did some shopping, eating, and drove out to the lake on Sunday. (We literally just drove to the lake, though--we didn't actually do anything ON the lake! :) But, it was a good time!
We hope Linds has a great experience and a lot of fun in the UK. (And, we hope she finds a place to live soon!)
And, here is our weird family picture with all of Lindsay's luggage. I can't explain why we thought crowding around suitcases was a kodak moment!

In completely unrelated England news, tonight I cooked meatloaf. Sorta. I didn't have all of the ingredients for my usual meatloaf (which is totally awesome, by the way), so I combined about 3 different meatloaf recipes using what I had on hand and made some version of meatloaf--or what was supposed to be meatloaf.
When Landry sat down at the table, she said "this doesn't look like antelope."
I said, "honey, it's not antelope."
And she said, "I mean cantaloupe."
I said, "it's not cantaloupe, either."
She said, "what is this again?"
I said, "meatloaf".
She said, "oh". Then, she looked at it as if I had just served her a plate full of vomit and said, "Well, it certainly doesn't look like meatloaf. Are you SURE it's not antelope?"

Good luck, Lindsay!!
Things I loved about this post:
1. schlep
2. crowding around luggage
3. Landry's discussion about meatloaf
4. Landry's decision about the meatloaf
Can I come and live with your family just for laughs?
