My brother and his friend, Courtney, came into town to visit us this weekend.
Okay--that's not why they came in to town, but nevertheless (or never-the-less?? or never the less??) we did get to visit with them. And, being in a town where you have no friends is so much more bearable when you have weekend company. Thank goodness it's football season! :)
Since we still haven't found any Tech girls that like to babysit and NOT go to football games, we still haven't found a "game day" babysitter. So, since the game was on TV, Jeff stayed home with Korley and I took Landry to the game.
She has been to one Tech game before, and countless OU games, but I tell you what--I almost would have rather taken a rabid rattlesnake with me. It wasn't that she was bad--she just wasn't happy. She was complaining about everything--the walking, the noise, her face tattoo was crooked, her candy bar was melting, her water bottle was wet. Geez Louise!
I told her when we were walking back to the car that I was never ever ever bringing her back to a Tech game with me and she said, "Thaaaaank You!" Ugh!
Anyway, she did enjoy getting to sit with Brady and Courtney (the other Courtney--the "cool" Courtney). In fact, the highlight of her night was getting to meet Midnight Matador and the Masked Rider and playing football with Brady at the tailgate.

Jeff bought us really good tickets for this game. I told him I wanted to sit on the grown-up side--the side where the sun's not in your face--the side where there are seat seats and not bench seats. He came through; we were close and had seat seats and no sun. HOWEVER, we did have the FSN camera crane right in front of us!

But, we were close enough to watch Coach Leach dream about Pirates.

Cute pictures! Cary took Kaylee and Campbell to the ACU game on Saturday. He said that they did great but of course several of their friends were there and we do not have a sold out crowd so they can move freely around the stadium. I am thankful it is a lot smaller than Tech because I am sure our story would have been a lot like yours otherwise. Gotta love those memories! Landry sounds so much like Kaylee in that story:-)
Erica- you hit the nail on the head. We went to a HS game the night before and she had a lot of fun b/c she had room to move around and play. Lesson learned!!
Rabid rattlesnake? Good one.
Don't you just luuuuve the surleyness of these 1st graders? hilarious!
Haha...I kind of feel for Landry...I feel the same way at a football game :).
