Last weekend, we traveled to Abilene to visit our dear friends, the Schwertners. Kristen is my BFF from high school (and college, and Dallas, and work). We used to get together with Scott, Kristen, and their girls almost every weekend when we lived in the Metroplex. They moved a few months before we moved to Lubbock and we haven't seen them in months. They had to evacuate their home near the coast a few weeks ago thanks to Hurricane Ike and go to Abilene, so we took advantage of them being only a 2 hour drive away as opposed to a 12 hour drive and went to visit them. It also happened to be Wylie's homecoming weekend, so we took our girls to the Wylie pep rally and game. It was so nice to be with good friends!

Landry and Korley at dinner before the game (unfortunately, Korley wasn't present at the game long enough for me to take a picture of her!)

Meghan and Landry at the game

Here is a pic of Meghan and Landry from 2004 at their first football game together. I can't believe how old they are now!

Then, Wednesday, my mom came up to visit. Neither of my parents had been to our house yet, so my mom came to help me (finally!) get some stuff done to our house. We shopped off and on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and when we weren't shopping we were at the house decorating. Okay, truthfully, she was decorating because she's better at stuff like that and helped hold heavy stuff.
In addition to helping me with my house, Gigi also came to Lubbock to be Gigi for a while. I think she was in need of a granchildren fix, and they were definitely in need of a Gigi fix. And, of course, she came bearing gifts--gifts in the form of costumes. I have never seen them so excited about presents as they were about their costumes!
My dad, PopPop, came up Friday for the remainder of the weekend. Landry and Korley were SO happy to see PopPop (they had been asking where he was since the day Gigi got here!), and we were thrilled to have everyone together. Perfect weekend! We're already ready for y'all to come back!

i've been thinking. i think we should all settle in lubbock. i mean, good news for me is that there's a medical AND law school there.....
so, learn to love lubbock. we'll all be there to join you soon.
We were at the game too:-) I wish I would have known that you all were there. It was really crowded though so we would have definitely had to have a meeting place.
I am glad your parents came to visit and help decorate. It is always nice to have someone else's input when decorating...other than a husband's of course.
Sounds like you are getting settled in, you are still in my prayers for the transition.
We miss you!!! I was just thinking last night I needed to call you. This cannot be your last blog. We must continue to have your funny post. Hope you guys can still come down in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for letting us invade your space! You guys have such a lovely home! And, you are right; PopPop and I needed the "fix" that Landry and Korley provide! You and Jeff have a precious family! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Ok, I am leaving a comment so I am no longer just a stalker! It actually feels really good to not just be a stalker! :)
