How is it possible that it's already August 2?
It seems like just a couple of weeks ago Landry was finishing 2nd grade. And, now, the beginning of 3rd grade is just around the corner.
Don't judge me as a mother (or do), but I have to admit that I'm usually excited for school to start. But, not this summer. I wish we had an extra couple of weeks to squeeze in a few more things.
One of the things we did happen to squeeze in was a little trip last weekend to Austin/New Braunfels. Jeff, the kids and I got to Austin on Saturday and stayed with our dear friends, Ryan and Angie. They recently moved back to Texas from Chicago and we're SO glad they're back and SO glad we got to go to their house for a visit! Our other friends, the Byrds, came over as well for dinner. All of our six kids played so well together!!
The following day, we met our friends, the Andersons in the San Marcos area. We spent Sunday swimming at the hotel, eating in Gruene (twice), and (much too briefly) shopping in San Marcos. Oh, outlet mall--I heart you!
On Monday, we all went to Schlitterbahn. It was way more crowded than I would have thought it would have been for a Monday, but it was still fun. Unfortunately, we had to get out of the water 3 different times due to lightening, but the storms passed generally quickly and we still had plenty of water time. Actually, it cooled the temps way down which made it really nice.
Landry's been swimming for a while now and is fairly fearless when it comes to slides and such so I knew she would have fun, but Korley was a pleasant surprise. Korley's gone from 100% floaties to independently swimming just this summer so I wasn't sure how well she would like the slides. She LOVED them and wasn't afraid to ride any of them! (Okay, truthfully, she was scared of the "Congo" ride, but only because they played loud animal noises--she wasn't afraid of the water part!) I'll never forget her sweet little giggles going over the rapids of the tube rides. Such a cutie!
It was a fun little trip--we packed a lot in a short amount of time!
Here's a few pics from our weekend (fyi, these were taken with my phone so the quality is definitely not the best!)

I can't believe it's August either! Looks like a fun weekend. I too heart the outlet mall. I'm thankful that I live so close to one, BUT it isn't the same as SM outlets!
We should get a trip together to go down there. We could meet Robin. Abby would probably join us. Maybe Ann could make the long trip too! It would be so fun!
P.S. don't forget to register for my blog tervis tumbler giveaway!
