We had a great weekend. We took Landry out of school last Thursday afternoon (despite the school office lady's threat of truancy court--puuuuulease) and Jeff, the girls and I headed to DFW to go to the Great Wolf Lodge.
Here are the highlights:
*NO CROWDS--apparently most parents make their kids go to school on a school day. fuddy duds. I guess they'll get the last laugh, though, when Jeff and I are in truancy court.
*Wolf Den--we stayed in the Wolf Den suite. Landry and Korley got bunk beds, which they thought was the greatest thing ever. And, they had their own TV--we got football, they got Nickelodeon. All was right with the world.
*Grapevine Mills--I got to do a little shopping on Friday afternoon and get the girls some much needed fall clothes.
*Friends--our friends, the Moss' (Moss's??, Mosses??) stayed right next door to our room. It was fun catching up with them and getting to play with their kiddos.
*Family--we got to see my family AND the bonus for them? they didn't have to stay at the GWL! They went with us when we went last summer and let's just say it's not on their top
*The kids--Landry and Korley both had a blast! Landry rode every slide dozens of times, and Korley covered every square inch of the toddler pool.
We checked out of the GWL on Saturday and went to the Moss' (Moss's?? Mosses??) house Saturday night to watch the Tech/Texas game. Of course we would have loved to have won, but we were completely expecting to get pounded, so none of us were too upset about the outcome. Tech has a young team and new quarterback and I really thought it would have been a whoopin', so to have only lost by 10 points was mighty fine by me!
Plus, the highlight of the whole night was getting to catch up with old friends--and their kids. We are so blessed to have such great college friends and kids that get along so well and enjoy playing together.
That was about it in a nutshell. It was a great, relaxing weekend. Again, you'll just have to take my word for it since I have no pics! :)

That sounds like so much fun!!
The truancy threat sounds like another post in itself! Please tell!!!
I've always wanted to go to GWL, but I think I'll take your brother & sister's advice and either take a kid with me or not go. I've heard there's a lot of kids. It still sounds fun though!
Give me a call if they try to haul you to court. I'll give you some lawyerly assistance. But seriously, who gets hauled to truancy court for missing one afternoon? Ten afternoons maybe, but not one.
Anyway, glad yall had so much fun!
Isn't it amazing that the parents who emphasize education in their home, have a perfectly behaved child with great grades, "walk the line," volunteer time, and donate money to their child's PTA get threatened?! Shouldn't the administration be more concerned with the parents who are not concerned?
Wish we could have spent more time with you guys, but we certainly enjoyed the "quality" time we shared!
So much fun!
Truancy court??? You have got to be kidding me!
It was great to see y'all! I wish I had taken pictures, too. And truancy court...trust me...all talk.
Glad you had fun. I think we need to take Caroline out of school and go to GWL again. It was too busy on Labor Day.
