Well, since Gigi asked....
and, since she makes up about 50% of my readership....
We had planned on getting pumpkins at the maize maze the other day. Afterall, they have a huge pumpkin patch (where they actually grow them). But, their pumpkins looked blech and icky. Apparently, there had been some sort of hail storm that had damaged their crop.
So, we drove over to the little pumpkin patch (where they actually don't grow them) near our house to buy our pumpkins. (side note--every time I type the word "pumpkin", I'm subconciously adding a "g" to the end of the word and am having to go back and delete it--"pumpking")
We had to wait until Sunday to decorate them, though, because I'm not mom enough to have mind-expanding, messy arts & crafts materials on hand. Had they have been able to decorate their pumpkins with Crayola "color wonder" markers that only appear on "magic paper" then we would have been set--anything messier, I don't have. So, off to the store for (washable) paint.
Here are our masterpieces:
Jeff and Landry making a Double T
Here's Jeff's______________. He said it was Frankenstien, but.....
Here are mine--a spider and Elmo.
There you have it. It's obvious that instead of painting, we should stick to what we do best.
Which is.....um....
well......hmmm.....

can't wait to see you guys next weekend!!
hey I kinda have to agree with the "stick to what you do best"--ha ha ha, but what FUN you must have had creating your fabulous oscar-winning pumpkin designs! That's what it is all about. So what is up with a little mess in your house???? ha ha mimpam
wow. i've always been afraid of spiders, but your pumpkin takes my fear to a whole new level! i would never want to come across that thing and have it get on me---ouch!
Great effort all around on the pumpkin painting! Korley's makes me hungry for a chocolate-covered donut; and Landry's double T is really good! The spider is a bit scary; but I certainly would have immediately guessed Frankenstein upon viewing Jeff's artwork! :) Good job all you Edwards Van Gough wannbe(s)!
PopPop has corrected me; it's Van Gogh.
We may paint pumpkins this year instead of carving. Lila loved scooping the guts out last year, but what a mess!!
