Well, Landry is well into her third week of Kindergarten now, so I guess I'm way overdue for an update. Unfortunately, this little thing called work is getting into my blogging time. Ugh!
Last week I went to Las Vegas with my mom and sister. We had a great time! We left on Labor Day and came back Thursday. While we were there we shopped, ATE, played slots, went to the David Copperfield show, ATE, played slots, went to Celine Dion's show, ATE, and played slots.
We decided to go to the David Copperfield show kind of last minute, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I generally get irritated with magicians--I hate how dramatic they are and how they twirl their capes around and stuff, but this was a good show. It was in a fairly small theater and he involved the audience a lot.
The Celine Dion show was good, too. I would describe my Celine fan status as "I occasionally don't change the station if her songs come on the radio", but the show was very entertaining. Her dancers and the video production of her show are amazing! However, I didn't CRY during the show like my sister did!! ;)

In other news, Landry had her first soccer game this past Saturday. Even though it was over 100 degrees with the heat index, Landry did great! She even scored a goal! Her team, the Ladybugs, won 18-2! However, IT. WAS. SO. HOT!!! These poor girls.....one of the girls on Landry's team was throwing up after the game due to the heat (however, she did manage to score 14 goals during the game).

This cracked me up. This was late in the game and while this activity was going on at one end of the field.....
....this was going on at the other end. Landry was preoccupied chewing on ice. People, it was friggin' hot!

I love David Copperfield! I went to his show when he was in town a few years ago, and he picked me from the audience to help him with a trick on stage. I even got to kiss him TWICE! I was so starstruck, lol. He's way shorter than I thought...I think I was as tall as he was.
Also, that kid scored 14 goals???!!! That is one high scoring soccer game. Usually soccer scores are like 1-0 or 2-1.
Whoohoo, Las Vegas! I have only been once and didn't see any shows...David Copperfield seems awesome.
