(I wrote this last night, but Blogger was being extremely uncooperative, so pretend it's yesterday when you're reading this.)
Today has been a much anticipated day for months! Today was finally the first official day of KINDERGARTEN!!
It's such a cliche that I thought I wouldn't fit into; afterall, Landry has been in daycare since she was 2. But, no such luck, I am also an emotional sobbing Kindergarten momma!
Yesterday was just an orientation day. The specials teachers took the Kindergarteners to do an activity while the Kindergarten teachers had a meeting with the parents. But, today was the *real* day. As I was getting her ready this morning I thought she looked so big and grown up. But, when I let her out in the carpool line (which by the way, was running smoothly until I arrived--letting my child out myself, camera in hand, multiple hugs) and saw her walking into the school with older kids, she still appeared so little to me.
She had a great day! She loves her new teacher, and she even has friends in her class; one from her old daycare and one from church. But, the best part of the day for her was finally getting to be a "schooler", which is what is now at her after-school daycare. She said being a schooler and riding in the van from real school to daycare were her two favorite things. Go figure!
