Last Week

I have a big fat 'Friday Night Lights' post coming up (tomorrow!), but I have a lot of pictures to sort through and a little catching up to do on other stuff.

Last week, our friends, the Jordans, came to town from Lubbock to stay with us for a couple of days.  Their oldest boy, Kelan, is Landry's best bud from Lubbock and even though she has seen him since we've moved and they have emailed, she has missed him dearly.  To say that she was excited he was coming to town would be a huge understatement. :)

The kids spent countless hours in the pool, had a slumber party in the play room, went to the batting cages, and went to see 'Despicable Me'.  We had a ton of fun with the Jordans--and to say Landry was sad when they left would be an understatement.  :(

I truly hope Landry and Kelan can stay friends for years to come.  He is one of the few people that appreciates the unique things she enjoys and truly enjoys talking about them with her, i.e. the show 'River Monsters' on Animal Planet.  (Glad somebody gets it!)

This past weekend, I made a quick trip to Lubbock for my tennis friend, Leslie's, wedding reception.  She actually got married in March in Hawaii, but they just had their reception this past weekend.  It was fun getting to be with some of my old tennis buds!

The other great thing about being back in Lubbock was that the weather was delightful.  As awful as spring in Lubbock is, summer is actually quite glorious.  I left Lubbock at 1:00 pm on Sunday and it was 86 degrees.  (brrrrrrr!)

Miss these girls!!

Before I left Lubbock, I got to have lunch with my friend, Ann.  Ann and I actually met through blogging but had several "real life" friends in common, and she and I became better friends while I was in Lubbock.  So glad I got to see you, Ann--you rock!

Fun stuff all around. I too miss Lubbock summers. So nice without humidity AND it cools down at night! Wish I could have joined you and Ann for lunch...it's been too long since I've seen you both!

I have been awaiting that Friday Night Lights post since I saw you talking about it on Facebook. At some point we will have to figure out how Adam Mirkes is both our friend.

So sad I missed the lunch with Ann. Maybe next time. I heard a rumor you will be in the SA area soon. Is it true?

I am waiting on your FNL post!
