Due to my OCD, it bothers me a little to not post in chronological order. But I figure if LOST can flash forward, backward, and sideways, surely my tiny little blog can be all over the map, too.
Anyway, Saturday, we hung out at my mom and dad's for the afternoon. That evening, Jeff and I had *planned* on taking the kids to see the fireworks in downtown Arlington, but our plans changed.--We had all gone out to eat and while we were in the restaurant, some body (bodies) busted my back window in the Suburban and stole Jeff's Blackberry. They attempted to steal the DVD player but either got spooked and took off or they couldn't figure out how to take it off from the roof. So, instead of going to see fireworks, Jeff was on the phone with Sprint about his Blackberry and my dad and I went to the carwash to vacuum the bajillion shards of glass all over the car.
Then, we rode home in style....
I'm pleased to say that our window is now fixed and we no longer look like we're advertising SUV window unit cooling. Yay!
Yesterday was a really fun day! Our original 4th plans kind of fell apart and it looked like we might just end up having our nieces over. But, as it turned out, we had some other friends who didn't have plans either, so we had a big ol' party at our house. We ended up having my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and their three girls, the Lowrys and their 3 kids, and the Files', their 3 kids, and Ryan's brother, Alan!
As usual, I'll let the pictures tell most of the story.
Chicken fighting with the cousins....
We had two birthdays--my niece, Lindsay turned 10 and our friend, Secily was 4 on the 4th! We had a couple of cakes!
Miss Thang--always striking a pose when the camera comes out
The whole gang of kiddos
Baby Jane
The pyrotechnic squad
Larson workin' the sparkler!
This was pretty much our *finale*!! So fun!

How fun! You gotta love it when you live in a place where you can shoot off your own fireworks! And I love the title of this post.
So fun...except the car window thing and that stinks!
so many comments...ready, set, go.
1) i am relieved to know that one of the members of your pyrotechnics team had on a volunteer fire department shirt. phew!
2) of COURSE landry has the cutest, most patriotic dress ever. and of COURSE i wish i had one in my size.
3) korley? i love her sassafras.
4) i find it SO fitting that you guys blocked your bashed out window with a lasko box. another reason why box fans are the bomb.com
Love the fireworks. We should have done our own this year. Looks like a good time- except the window!! What a pain.
