LOST.....still
Sunday night closed another chapter of my television life. (Yes, I have a television life.) (Yes, it's pathetic.)
I've been a fan of LOST from the very beginning.
Way back in 2004, I was a mother of only one child, a two-year-old. We were living in an apartment. Back then, I would watch LOST on our little TV after Landry went to bed. And, if we happened to be gone, I would tape it on my VCR.
I would waste lots of time scouring web forums trying to figure out the meaning of 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42, and what the Dharma symbols symbolized.
After the third season or so, I stopped trying to figure it out and just tried to enjoy watching it knowing at some point it would all be wrapped up in a pretty little package.
Or maybe not.
I didn't love the finale, but I liked it and was satisfied with it. I wouldn't change have changed the ending. I love how they all ended up together and reunited. I loved the "awakenings" in the sideways flashes--loved those parts. But, I guess I would have liked to have all of my other pending questions answered.
Like:
**Uh, Michael? What happened to him? He just blew up on the freighter and went where? He didn't get to go to Heaven?
**Why did they show the island underwater if that really didn't happen?
**I didn't get Jack/Juliet's kid. Whose kid was he? Jack or Juliet's? Or, were they together in the sideways world?
**What was the deal with Desmond/Eloise's conversation at the concert? Why was she worried that Desmond was going to take Daniel? And why did he say "not today" (or now, or something like that).
**Widmore. They made him seem like such an important figure. Then, UnLocke shot him and that was that. What was Widmore's purpose in all of this?
**Who's going to feed Vincent? :)
**What was the reason for killing all of the Dharma Initiative people?
Guess I'll never know!! :)
I liked "The End" for what it was and did love that they were all reunited, but I guess I just wanted to end the series being a little less lost.

I just left you a couple of links on the FB comment from yesterday. Here they are though (again)...really good at summarizing what really happened (or at least a good theory!)

I hate it when a show you loves, disappears from TV world. Often it takes years to replace the empty space!!
i hate when a fav show ends! it is just like a death to me, 'cause obviously i'm pathetic. i never got into lost. i watched the first episode because i was such a big alias fan, but the whole monster thing just was too much for me (which i hear wasn't really part of the show, so i guess i should have kept watching!)
I actually watched a lot of the finale again tonight with Kevin now that I knew what was going on more! It made it better the second time around.
Glad you liked the links!
