Apparently I took a little unintentional blog hiatus.
The other day, my sister was sitting beside me on the couch and said, "you need to update your blog".
I said, "I'm sitting right beside you--what do you want to know?"
Then, she rolled her eyes like I was the most frustrating person ever. (I'm not)
Then, today, Jeff said, "you know, you really need to update your blog".
So, for my loved ones that I talk to every day--I'm catching you up to date on what's been going on with us.
note: I'm strictly playing catch-up. This will probably be neither interesting or funny.
Earlier this month, Landry was "VIP of the week" in her class. The Friday of that week, she got to present the poster that she put together and the class got to ask questions. Landry's highlight? Calling on the kids that raised their hands with the little plastic hand pointer thingy.
The other highlight? She got to bring Baxter to class and introduce her friends to him. (Her teacher sitting on the desk is holding him)
The following week, the 2nd graders performed their musical. This was a musical that they had performed last semester, but they did a special performance for some leadership seminar visitors at the school. I came to watch since I obviously didn't see it last semester.
It was really cute. It was called "Lights, Camera, Action". They all did a great job.
Landry was a dancer in "The Candyman"
The other B-I-G news is that we got a new dog. We (in a moment of regretful weakness) promised Landry that when we moved to our new house, we would get her a bigger dog. She and Jeff went to the pound and picked out Maple. She's a sweet dog. She's calm, house-trained, doesn't bark, doesn't jump, loves the kids, gets along well with Baxter, etc. The only bad thing she's got going for her is that she sheds--and she's a dog. Neither of those are her fault, just something I've got to live with!
Lindsay also brought Norm over one day. Three dogs in my house at one time.....I can't believe I didn't have a panic attack.
Korley continues to be Korley. She's enjoying having our friends that live nearby over often to play.
Last weekend, I went on a girls' trip with my bestie college girlfriends to Salado. We go somewhere every spring and this was our third time to go to Salado. We stayed at the Inn on the Creek this year and it was fabulous! It's a B&B, even though the owner kept referring to it as an "inn boutique"--whatever. They had a beautiful lawn with hammocks and lawn chairs and music playing that backed up to the creek (I just re-read this and it sounds weird. The lawn backed up to the creek, not the music). It was so relaxing. And, we spent about 4 hours at the amazing restaurant on Saturday night. Great weekend!
Me with my friends, Ann and Erin
Me and my friend Angie. She just moved back from Chicago and we're so glad to have her back in Texas!
Ann, Christie, and me
Well, that's about it for now. I'll post more tomorrow.--maybe!

Maple looks so sweet, sorry she sheds, but it ROCKS that she is house broken!
