This has been a long and busy week.
Thankfully, today is Saturday. It's 2:00 PM right now. We're all still in our jammies--watching football--and enjoying a lazy Saturday.
I've had a lot to blog about this week but no time to do it. I'll start from yesterday and work backward.
Last week was the Book Fair at Landry's school. Her school has the biggest book fair in the region and it's quite a production. Our book fair pretty much takes up the entire gym. I volunteered a lot last week for the book fair--and, Thursday night was "Family Night", which was a dinner in conjunction with the book fair. I was in charge of the dinner, and since we served almost 350 people, I went in to panic mode a couple of times throughout the week--i.e., learning how to make tea and lemonade for 300 people. The whole week went smoothly and was a huge success, but needless to say, I'm glad book fair week/family dinner night is behind us!

Last weekend was the Kansas State/Tech game. It also happened to be Homecoming weekend. My neighbor and I took our kids to the Homecoming parade. Unfortunately, it was kind of a lame parade--especially since we didn't get much candy.
Last Friday was Landry's 2nd grade field trip to At'l Do Farms--which is the maize maze.

It was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G that day. According to the Lubbock "weather lab", the temps were supposed to get to the low 70s. So, we all had on t-shirts and windbreakers. But, it never got out of the 40s. I had to send Jeff to Academy to get us some sweatshirts because we were so cold!
This was the motley crew that I was in charge of. All of these kids (except Korley) are Landry's classmates. I think it's funny that both the little girl in the A&M hat and the boy in the black sweatshirt are the same age (and no, he wasn't a late starter!).
Post-maze hot chocolate break......
Landry, Korley, and Landry's best friend, Bailey. In every picture I have of Landry and Bailey, Bailey is always leaning on Landry....
After our picnic lunch, the kids went on a hay ride.
Korley throwing hay at Jeff....such a stinker!
Bailey throwing hay at Jeff.......Korley's such a bad influence. :)
I asked the girls to smile "bigger" for me and this is what I got. Good grief.
