Random

*Today is August 17 and when I went to go pick up dinner at 5:30 this evening it was 73 degrees. August 17!! 73 degrees!! In Texas!! Miracle?

*Even though I went school supply shopping two weeks before school starts, I still can't find assorted color construction paper or manilla paper in this entire town. Will I have to resort to Ebay?

*I hope this isn't a stupid question, but does anyone know why Australia's Olympic colors are green and yellow--when their national flag looks like this?

*Isn't men's swimming so much more enjoyable to watch since they've done away with speedos?

*Why do I get so interested in watching the most random sports during Olympic time? K1, for example....why on earth am I interested in K1?

Speaking of which--I am cutting this terribly written, random post short. Getting back to Olympic coverage!!

what the heck is K1?? I am sure I will feel totally STUPID when you write what it is, but I cannot figure it out...and I have watched a ton of the Olympics--luv it!!

Try Albertsons if there still is one, for the school supplies--there is some random office supply place on 34th that I used to have to resort to, but it is probably closed down by now...good luck, I KNOW you can do it, because this could be the next olympic game--school supply hunting!!!! ha ha I crack me up. love mimipam

OK, I don't think that worked...anyway, apparently green and gold are the national colors of Australia and are the traditional team colors of Australian national sporting teams.

I don't like the U.S. uniforms this year...looks like black and red instead of blue and red.

Amen to the construction paper BUT not the manila stuff. We have an abundance of the manila but the construction paper has reached black market status. I found (no kidding) the last two packages the other day at Wal-Mart and I actually thought another mom was going to pull out her switch blade and take it from me. :)

Gigi to the rescue; just got back from Mardell's with two large and two small packages each of construction paper and manilla paper. I will be happy to buy more if you need me to do so!

We can't locate Manilla paper either- I think it's a conspiracy. We are also on the serious hunt for plastic folders with pockets and brads in specific colors. I am not amused. Remember the days of bringing glue and crayons for school supplies???
