when I don't have to wait around in the house for a service person. Since we have moved in, it seems like every day we've waited on the cable man, phone/internet man, tv repair man, water-softener-making man, the cable man again, the phone man again, the install a lock on Korley's bathroom door man, and most recently the plumber who has had to come THREE times in 24 hours.
Our hot water heater stopped working on Sunday. I called our home warranty people and, of course, had to wait until Monday before I got a call back from the plumber. And, of course, they were booked all day Monday so it would be Tuesday before they could come out. The guy came out and got the hot water heater working Tuesday morning, but a couple of hours later it stopped working. Then, he came back Tuesday evening--got it working again and a couple of hours later it stopped working. So, I called them back this morning and they told me it would be tomorrow before someone could come out. I threw a mini-fit (I mean really, I've had freezing cold showers since Sunday--thus, not thorough showers!) and she said that the senior plumber would be available at lunch time to come out Perfect! Send the senior plumber! I prefer the top performer anyway.
Well, I'm not sure how great of a plumber he is, but he is definitely senior. This guy was no less than 100 years old--and no more than 100 pounds. But, I think he fixed the issue (knock on wood!) and I'm going to get in a shower as soon as the heater heats up the water!

Update to the previous post......
I almost hate to say this because I don't want to jinx anything, but Korley has gone to bed without any fuss the past three nights. In fact, last night she told me she was ready to go night-night. And, the past two nights she has slept completely through the night. It's been glorious!
Landry has had a good past few days. She has met some girls in our neighborhood that she has enjoyed playing with. Also, we were invited to visit a church this past Sunday and they were starting their VBS that night. So, I got her signed up and she attended their VBS, which she really enjoyed. Yesterday, Jeff's parents drove in from Dallas and took her back with them today so she can spend a few days with them and her cousins before she starts school. Fortunately, she won't have to go back to the daycare for the rest of the summer. I don't think it is a bad place at all, but it just wasn't a good fit for her and too different from what she had come from.
I've gotten out and met some neighbors, too. Also, I met up with an old high school friend and her two boys (who are Korley's age) at the pool last weekend. It was good to see a familiar face! And, she plays tennis at the same tennis club we go to, so hopefully I can start playing tennis with her soon. We also visited a church that we enjoyed and the people were really nice, so things are slowly getting better!

Wow. Sounds like things are getting bright again (except fo the shower - that stinks.)
LOL...Senior plumber. Wonder if it really was a play on words. Hope he got everything fixed.
Yay on meeting people and on the church. Maybe it'll just be "that easy" to find a new worship place in L.
Wait...tennis? Club? What has Lubbock done to you? Please tell me you wear the sweater tied around your neck and a visor.
Just kidding. We miss you!! :)
Glad things are looking up for Landry. Call us if you come in town.
