BIG FAT UPDATE

Thanks to you all who gave me well wishes at trying to get Korley out of our bed. I have to say that this past week has sucked big time. Here's how it's gone....

7:30 pm- get Korley bathed and dressed for bed
7:45 - last bottle
8:00 - big hug good night and put her in bed
8:00:01- start the massive meltdown
8:10- hyperventalating cry sets in
8:30- screaming bloody murder
8:45- gagging herself and on the verge of vomitting

this goes on and on..... and if we're lucky....

9:15-the poor thing has fallen asleep sitting up in her bed. whew!
12:30- massive meltdown, part 2
12:31- whoever is on "baby duty" upstairs gets baby and brings baby down to master bed and kicks the "restfully sleeping parent" out of master bed to go upstairs
12:32- Korley mentally gives herself a high-five....she wins

Brady, you might be on to something; I think Jeff and I could possibly get more rest if we shared her crib and let her have our bed!!

Anyway, I'll keep you updated on this issue.

Vegas

So, I got our Vegas pictures uploaded. After going through them, I can't believe how few pictures I took. And, the ones I did take are random boring things. I don't know why I thought I needed 60 pictures of the Bellagio gardens?!? Anyway, we had a great time. We stayed at the Monte Carlo, but were all over the strip. We ate at the Venetian one night, the Hard Rock one night, and the Bellagio brunch buffet. Plus, we shopped up and down the strip as well. Angie and I also went to her friend's cupcake bakery called The Cupcakery. It was a darling little shop and she made DELICIOUS cupcakes! YUM!!

Here are a couple of pics....again, didn't do so well on the picture taking this trip!

40 YEARS

Yesterday was my mom and dad's 40th wedding anniversary!! Wow!! My brother, sister, Jeff and I took them to Pappa's Bros. Steakhouse last night to celebrate. We had a great time and really enjoyed celebrating their anniversary with them.

Just to let you know how much time has changed--I'm pretty sure my dinner last night cost more than their entire honeymoon. They got married in 1967 while they were still at ACU. They drove from Abilene to Ruidoso, NM for their honeymoon. I have no idea how many nights they stayed, but if I remember correctly, they only spent $75 on their entire honeymoon!!

Awww, I'm sorry you had a rough weekend! I bet it was really frustrating. Hopefully she learns to love her crib! Ellie has a small blanket and a soft monkey that she sleeps with and seems to comfort her. Does Korley have any "love" items?

Sweet, Baby Korley! I just know that there will come a day when you will love being able to take a nap; ask any of us who are now adults!

Thank you, Courtney, Jeff, Brady and Lindsay for a wonderful anniversary dinner. We appreciate all of you being here to help us celebrate. The food was wonderful, but the company was even better! We love you all, and we really love spending time with all of you!

And yes, Courtney, your dinner alone cost more than our total honeymoon expenses! We filled our gas tank in Lubbock for $3.35 and again later in Roswell for $4.40. The most we spent on dinner was $3.59. We really weren't trying to be penny pinchers; our expenses were much, much less then than now!

Holly, she does have two lovies, but they just don't suffice right now. The lovies she'd rather be sleeping with are Jeff or me!!

We stayed in the Monte Carlo, too. I love how the casino smelled like fabric softener!!

Glad you had a great time and I hope things with Korley get better!!
