FIRST PLACE--BAT GIRLZ

Last Saturday, May 21, was Landry's championship softball game.  They played the highly feared Hurricane's, who were in first place heading into the tournament!

However, our girls had worked hard all season and improved SO MUCH!  They ended up winning 8-2 and won first place!

I was obviously proud of the accomplishment--but even more proud of Landry for her character and sportsmanship.  She is so encouraging to her teammates and her opponents and I would be just as proud of her had they have come in in last place.

She has really loved playing softball and is enjoying all of the friendships she's made through it.  We are happy that she's doing something she's enjoying.  And, it's not over for us this season--she'll be playing on the all-star team!

Jeff was the Bat Girlz first base coach.  I am so proud of him, too.  There are a lot of softball "extremist" parents (that's the nice way to put it) and Jeff did a great job keeping everything in perspective for the girls when a lot of the other parents didn't.  I mean really, the goal should be to have fun!!

1st Place! Way to go Landry! Good thing y'all are wrapping up now before it gets too hot. I seem to recall that we didn't start our softball season until about June and ran through August. Ugh! Whose stupid idea was that?
