Easter Sunday

The past few years I have been completely unprepared for Easter.  Last year, we moved into our new house a few days before Easter and we didn't go to church.  There's a good chance I didn't even know where the boxes were holding our "dressy" clothes.

I vowed last year that this year would be different.  So, a few days after Easter, I bought the girls' Easter dresses for this year.  They were on major sale, I bought a size up, and I was ready for Easter a year early!  Winning!

Several days before Easter, I had the girls try on their dresses and shoes and everything fit.  Whew.

As we were walking out the door to go to church, I heard Landry say "uh oh".  I looked over and one of the straps of her dress was dangling.  Ugh.

We were already running late (of course), and I told her just to go put on another dress.

So, Jeff, Korley, and I were all Easter coordinated--and Landry was the black (and white polka dot) sheep of the family.

That's what I get for being prepared.

Maybe next year.

After church, we went to my mom and dad's house for Easter lunch and to celebrate my sister's birthday!

My mom made a red velvet cheesecake and it was delicious!  Korley could hardly wait!

THIS was my birthday gift to my sister.

This is an old "Noteworthy" phone.  We had one exactly like it in our kitchen growing up.  I found it a few weeks ago on Etsy and emailed it to Lulu and said "remember this?" and she responded, "You should buy it!!  If you don't, I'm going to!!"  So I bought it--for her!

It was quite the novelty for Landry and Korley.  They had never seen a phone "SO BIG" and the rotary dial was so foreign!

We plugged it in and called the house and it works!!  Fun trip down memory lane!

Happy birthday, Lulu!!

What a fun phone! My memory of rotary dial would be calling my grandmother (long distance), almost getting it dialed and then screweing up & having to start all over again (and she had lots of 9's in her #)!
