Well, needless to say, we are well into third grade. And, again I am behind on blogging.
I'm going to blame my job. It's gotten busier--and my work/life balance is way off its equilibrium.
So, here goes....
We've helped cheer the Aledo Bearcats to victory this season! Here we all are before the season opener a few weeks ago. It was a fun game and a fun time with the family!
Speaking of season openers, we had several friends over for the first Texas Tech game of the season which was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. My friend, Beth and her boys (Luke and Jake) and the girls and me went to the park the morning of the game. We wanted to get a picture of the kids-- Landry insisted that they stand in front of the "missing dog" flyer.
Just a random picture of Korley. This is the "unicorn" she wears on chapel days. I have to admit, the plaid is super cute--even if she REFUSES to tuck her shirt in. (Can't blame her!)
Last Thursday, September 9 was grandparents' day at Landry's school. Grandparents were invited to come for coffee and donuts at the school. PopPop and Gigi were able to take Landry to school and stay for breakfast (unfortunately, PawPaw and Grammy were out of town). Landry loved getting to show off her school and classroom to PopPop and Gigi!
Landry has also started playing softball this season. This is her first season to ever play. She has been put on a team with mostly 10-year-olds--and most of them have played for at least two or three seasons. We were concerned for her at first b/c she really has a lot to learn, but she has hung in there and done great. She works hard and is eager to learn.--Here she is at her first game last Saturday playing right field.
Here she is at her second time at bat. She didn't get a hit--but it wasn't for lack of swinging! She did get a walk at this time at bat, though.
Here is her coach giving her some tips while she's at third base.
AND, she scored the winning run of the game! She was so excited and we were so happy for her!
She's loving softball, but I'm pretty sure she's loving all the crazy cheers and heckling they do as well!
Korley was in attendance, too. She cares less about the game and more about running around and stirring up trouble!
Last Saturday, after the game, we headed to Great Wolf Lodge with our friends, the Lowrys and Files' for Lauren's 6th birthday. Here's a group shot of the 7 kids in our group. (Side note--I can't tell you how many times I counted to 7 during the two days at the waterpark!!)
Of course, the kids loved the waterpark, but they equally loved playing "Red Light/Green Light" in the hallway. Apologies to the other 6th floor guests.
Most popular place in the hotel room? Top bunk, of course.
Sarah treated Korley and Secily to pedicures!
That's about it for now! Hope to be back before October!!

Korley just totally cracks me up with her "red carpet" pose.
My high school colors were orange and black too. Kind of always made me feel like I was dressing up for Halloween.
Glad all is going well- I wondered what had happened. Missed you. The girls look darling- as usual!
The one time we coutned to 6 was not fun!!
