Summer Grader

Yesterday was Landry's last day of 2nd grade!

Finally!

Don't get me wrong, I feel like she's growing up so fast.  But, this school year has felt particularly long.  Guessing it has something to do with a move to a new town and new school!

I told her yesterday after she got out of school that she was now a third grader.  She insisted that she was not yet a third grader but not a second grader.  She is claiming herselft a "summer grader".  Sounds like a fine grade to me!

Typically, I would have gotten a few more pictures of Landry on the last day of school.  But, she came down with the stomach bug the night before and I was just going to let her sleep in.  I mean, who wants to be remembered as the girl who threw up all over the classroom on the last day of school?

Apparently, Landry was willing to take that chance, though.  She insisted on going and not missing the last day.

I went in with her to get a picture of her and her teacher, since I had never taken one.  Poor Landry.  She was so pale and looked so pathetic.  But, again, she insisted on staying--and fortunately didn't get sick at school!

We were so fortunate that Landry got Ms. H when we moved.  Ms. H truly loves teaching and her kids.  In fact, she has planned a day for her class at Six Flags in a couple of weeks.  Landry's already looking forward to it and being with all of her classmates!

The day before the last day of school was the school's end of year party.  All of second grade got to go out and play outdoor games and have popsicles and watermelon--perfect way to welcome summer.

So long second grade!  You were a great year, but we're looking forward to third!
