Bullet Points

It's a good thing I don't write for a living.

1) While I'm anal about apostrophes (btw, have you noticed how many people inappropriately use apostrophes??  ex. Everything's coming up rose's!  Argh!), my other punctuation sucks.  I use a lot of double dashes (--) (not a real punctuation mark) or use commas in random places or use the trailing periods........

2) If my blog is any indication, I would never make a deadline.

So, in order to catch up a little, I'm bullet pointing it up....... (trailing periods)

Side note first--speaking of punctuation, I work with this lady who instead of using trailing periods in her emails uses trailing commas.  And, to me that's weird enough, but oftentimes, she uses a weird amount (like two) to where it looks like a mistake.  Ex. Attached is my useless TPS report,,

See!  It looks weird!

Anyway, the real stuff.........

**Last week Landry participated in a theatre camp that was hosted by our town's high school.  I have to say, I was really impressed with the camp.  It was a huge hit, very well organized, and Landry had a blast!  They performed a play that they learned during the week last Friday night.  It was called Escape From the Zoo and Landry's group was monkeys.
Here is our little thespian
(note--there were 127 kids at this camp, so I don't think a lot of time went into costumes.  But, I can vouch that she is indeed a monkey)

With some fellow monkeys

**I didn't have anything scheduled for Landry this week, so my friend Beth graciously asked if she wanted to stay with them for the week.  Beth's son, Luke, is one of Landry's best friends and they play together SO well.  Every night when I talk to Beth she says how she can't believe how there has been no fighting and how well they play together all day.  I owe you big time, Beth!

**However, Korley has missed her "big sissy" (her words, not mine--I hate the word "sissy"). She is constantly asking when she's coming back and if we can just go get her.  Maybe she'll be nicer to her once she comes back tomorrow!

**My sister and some of her girlfriends used our house last weekend for their girls' weekend, so Jeff, the kids and I went to Richardson for the weekend.  We stayed at my in-laws' house (even though they are still in Florida) so we could get together with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. --My friend/former college roommate, Tara, and her husband and two little girls came over for dinner Saturday.  Korley and Riley are the same age and the same personality.  Alpha dog squared.  Tara and I wondered how they would get along with their dual strong personalities, but fortunately, they both played together extremely well.  Here they are talking on their cell phones ( plastic toy knives) to each other.  So funny!

**My sister and I started a boot camp last week here in Aledo.  I'm so out of shape it's pathetic.  The first day we went was very cardio-intensive (a lot of running) and I came very close to throwing up.  Awesome.  The second session was very leg exercise intensive--tons of squats, lunges, walking sumos (don't ask), wall sits, etc.  I had never been so sore in my life as I was the next two days.  The girls came and woke me up on Saturday and then they climbed into my bed. Korley laid her head on my leg (my quad to be exact), which felt like getting hit by a truck--and not like an F150, like an 18-wheeler.  I can't even talk about what it was like going up and down the stairs at my in-laws'.

**In addition to the boot camp (which is yet to be determined if it's making me more healthy or killing me), I've also made some "better" food choices.  I decided that for the month of June I would cut out red meat, white flour, sugar, fried food, and only drink water (with the exception of my two morning cups of black coffee--necessity).  I figured that I could do anything for a month.  And, hopefully, by the end of the month I won't miss most of those things.  I did cheat a little bit last weekend, though, when we were in Richardson--but got back on track the next day.--Wanna know how much weight I've lost?  Zero pounds!  Awesome.

I haven't even read the rest of your post, but I just have to say that the trailing commas baffle me! I realize I overuse the ellipsis...but still,,,

that is confusing.

continuing on...

Trailing commas really? Weird and I don't like it. I use the aposterphe inapproperately all the time. I hate that I do it, but for some reason or another I skip over it.

Also hate the "sissy" thing and we totally do it all the time. It makes me cringe everytime we refer to E that way. Ekks!!

Very excited about your bootcamp, I think I may join one when I return from the wedding. I have given up enchilada's until the wedding. I had lost five pounds...but I think I have found them again. Grrr

All the muscle you are gaining is off-setting the weight you are losing! Sounds good,,,, doesn't it? *JK with the trailing commas!* That is what I always tell myself when I don't see results on the scales!!!!

I am not very good with the periods and commas and all that stuff in general so I stay away.

Kara - can you help me with the then & than. I don't know the difference. I even googled it a few months ago and I still don't get it.

Yeah for bootcamp, but working out really does suck. I gave up cokes a few years ago and I don't really miss them. I have one every so often and it is good, but it only makes me want a glass of water.

Doneece and Ann make fun of me because I love the water from Rock Fish. I go there for the water. They just don't understand good water when that is all you drink.
