We have finally moved.
Not quite settled...but moved.
I realize that in the grand scheme of the world that this was nothing more than a princess problem, but sheesh....both ends of the move contained so much stress and drama. The whole thing was as smooth as sandpaper.
But, we're finished.
And, I'm not moving again until I'm forced into a nursing home.

Landry's last day at Cooper West was the day we closed on our Lubbock house--Wednesday, March 24.
It was a sad, sad, sad, sad, sad day for her. She got lots of special attention from her classmates that day, but she boo-hooed for quite a while once I picked her up and we headed for the Metroplex.
Her very good friend, Kelan's mom made a scrapbook for Landry that had pictures of everyone in her class and they each wrote a note to Landry about something they liked about her or a special memory. It was so cute and so thoughtful! She looked at it no less than 20 times on the road trip that afternoon--it's definitely a special treasure for her!!
Landry and Kelan have this "special" handshake/high five thing they do. They had already hugged but it wasn't until they did their high five thing that they both started crying. Break. My. Heart.......
The very next day, Landry and I went to her new school to register her. It just so happened that they were having Open House that night. So, she got to come up to the school and meet some kids in her class, visit with her teacher, tour the school, etc. I definitely think it helped transition her to her new school. And, I'm happy to report that she's really enjoying her new school. She has a really nice teacher and has already made some fun friends!

This past Saturday was Korley's FOURTH birthday!
I can't believe she's four. It just doesn't seem possible at all!
She has been asking for a "motorcycle" (uh, no way), but I think that was her way of saying she wanted a battery-powered 4-wheeler like some of our friends have.
I sent Jeff to Toys R Us to get her the pink Barbie one and he came back with this......
He said this one was "faster". Oh well.
It didn't matter because she LOVES it. She was SO excited!!
She's already put lots of miles riding circles around our driveway.
Later in the day we went to play at the park. The weather was PERFECT!!
Then, my family came over to celebrate the birthday girl.
She was excited about a new pair of shoes.....
but even more excited about the make-up/cell phone that came with the shoes.
Buzzy and Lauren brought her a Princess and the Frog doll--her new obsession!
Happy Birthday, Korley!! We love you so much!

So glad to hear that you have moved and all is going well.
I'm was so sad for Landry reading this post, but so happy to see she is enjoying her new school and friends.
The photo of Korley seeing her "motorcycle" is priceless!
Yea for the update and yea for getting moved! I know Landry will be class favorite in no time. Love that pic of Korley and the motorcycle!
Yippee!! Glad to see an update, and I hope the sandpaper burns are gone soon! Can't imagine the house sale on this end being rough! Buahahahah! I'm glad Landry is doing well in her new school!! You guys take care!!!
Lots of love to you all!
So glad your back!! Hope it goes well for Landry...she's in our prayers. I moved several times as a kid. I found that mid year moves are the best kind!! I know she will do great!
Oh my, Courtney. Moving can be such an emotional roller coaster. We've move 17 times in 33 years of marraige... I hope each and everyday gets better and brings more good friends. I also hope you enjoy decorating your new nest.
So happy you entered my art giveaway and hope you win! Big hug to you Coutney!
Thanks again,
Roxanne
I'm sure you've already noticed that in the picture of Landry's class where everyone is making a silly face, Dad pointed out that Kelan is not. In fact, he looks on the verge of tears; bless his and Landry's sweet hearts. I hope that they will always remain friends; they are precious. And speaking of precious, how cute was Korley's four-year-old face when she saw her "four wheeler!" So glad we were able to be with you guys on her birthday, and we didn't have to drive six hours to get to the party! Loving having you all so much closer to us!
