Yesterday, I sent my kids to school in shorts and t-shirts.
We went to dinner last night after Landry's gymnastics class. She was wearing her sleeveless leotard, shorts, and flip flops. She was not cold.
Last night, I went for a walk in the neighborhood and broke a sweat--not necessarily due to my speed, but because it was hot.
Yesterday, it was nearly 80 degrees here.
Today?
My kids went to school with their HEAVY winter coats.
I'm not even making my puppy go outside to potty.
It's snowing.
SEVEN DEGREE windchill temp. The actual temp is about 31 degrees, but factor in the fabulous Lubbock wind and it feels like 7. Whatever. It feels like the peak of Mt Everest--except windier.

You can't fool me -- that's just cotton. A really, really, ridiculous amount of cotton. Right?
No, Teresa. We get our cotton in December--our snow in March. :)
Gotta love that west Texas weather! We have had no snow in Abilene this year and I was really wishing for some yesterday. Build a snowman for us:-)
Probably won't make you feel any better, but even McKinney had a "dusting" of snow this morning, and the windchill there is 24 (better than 7, I know). The wind is really blowing hard today straight out of the north. Right after the norther blew in yesterday afternoon, the temp dropped like a rock, and the wind was blowing hard! We saw a lady in short sleeves and shorts pushing a stroller with a couple of 12-month-old (give or take a month) children with sleeveless and legless outfits on hurriedly trying to get back home. One minute it was warm, the next it was freezing! Tomorrow it's back to 70! And that's why we love Texas!
Lubbock weather changes so quickly!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I will have to get the name and phone number of the person that gave Landry lessons. Maybe Landry and Caroline should meet- they could discuss horses. :)
