Because Moving Isn't Hard Enough.....

This week for most people is to celebrate our country's independence and freedom. This week for us, though, is moving week. And while the privilege of moving is part of our freedom in this wonderful country, it feels anything but.

However, I'm a planner. I had this week mapped out to a T, so the beat-down of the logistics of moving were not going to get to me.

What wasn't part of my plan? Korley having laryngitis with fever and just feeling plain lousy. While at the same time, Landry has a fever and a case of "the vomits".

Fortunately, my brother was able to meet me at their daycare and take them to my mom and dad's yesterday. And, my mom rearranged her week in a matter of seconds to take care of my babies. And, my poor poor poor unfortunate dad was the cleaner-upper after the gold medal winning vomit performance. (Still so sorry, dad!)

I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL that my family was able to step in and help this week. However, it's hard to not be with my kids when they are feeling so lousy.

On a completely different note, today is mine and Jeff's 8th anniversary!!

Oh my gosh, COURTNEY!! I am just reading all of your posts that I have totally missed and I cannot believe that everything moved so fast for yall and in your favor!! WOW! I have never heard of moving happening that fast but it sounds like y'all are doing the best thing for your family.

I just wish we would have known 'cause I would have snatched your house up in McKinney!!

Good luck and I will definitely be watching for posts of the new adventure. Sorry to hear the girls were sick! :(

Happy Anniversary!!

Ugh, moving is awful enough without having sick kids. Hope they are all better.
Happy anniversary!

This sounds like a case of a "terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day!" As if the stress of moving is not enough. I can't imagine throwing sick kids into the mess. And what a way to celebrate 8 years of wedded bliss! Hang in there Courtney. It can only get better!

hey courtney--I found your blog on my daughter Tessa's blog--you sound funny so I often read yours while I am browsing hers. The reason I am writing is to tell you--not to lose faith. Lubbock is an awesome town--well, once you get used to the wind and sand blowing. I was raised in Plainview and then lived in Lubbock for 10 years before moving due to a transfer. That part of the country is home to me...but it does take a certain person to LOVE the flat lands and no trees...but I do. I pray that you find your "niche" there and find people who love you--that makes anyplace "home". Good luck and God bless. mimipam
