The 4th....back-woods Oklahoma style

My friend, Kristen, and I thought it would be a *great* idea to go on a camping trip with our two families. We thought it would be even greater to *give* this trip to our husbands for father's day. :) So, last week, our husbands got to redeem their father's day gift and we went camping in Broken Bow, OK.

And by camping, I mean we stayed in a newly constructed 2 bedroom/2 bath, fully equipped kitchen, satellite tv, wrap around porch with hot tub cabin. That's about as much as I'm willing to rough it.

We arrived on the 4th and that evening drove to the Hochatown Fireworks show. I hadn't quite been to a fireworks show like this--let's just say, I've never been to a fireworks show that was located "behind the general store"; I've never been able to be within 30 yards of where they are lighting the fireworks; and I've never been anywhere where the people honk their horn if they enjoyed the group of fireworks. Interesting folks there.

Here are some pictures of the rest of the *camping* trip!!

Korley had this really cute 4th of July dress, but it wouldn't stay on. So, she walked around most of the day like this. She pretty much fit in with the crowd gathered behind the general store, though!
The kids got to shoot their own little confetti poppers before we went to the big fireworks show.

Korley clapped everytime the girls shot a confetti popper.

Here are all the girls enjoying their popsicles on the front porch.

Meghan and Landry admiring the fireworks show.

We brought along Landry's Dora tent for Landry and Meghan to sleep in.

Swimming in the hot tub!

What a fun trip! Kaitlyn has been begging to go camping. I like your idea of camping - a nice comfy, airconditioned cabin. James, unfortunately, thinks you need to stay in something called a tent. Maybe that could be a father/daughter trip.
Glad you had a good time!

Heehee, I like your type of camping! Hey, at least the girls slept in a "tent"!
