I was not meant to be cooped up for days at a time. I've always been someone that was ready to go!! However, thanks to the Ice Blast/Wintry Mix/Freeze Alert (pick your fave phrase from your fave chief meterologist), we've been at home since Friday afternoon....I don't even think we've as much as opened the door once.
Saturday, I managed to get quite a bit done. I took down the Christmas tree (yes, we STILL had it up!!), rearranged and organized the playroom (this took TWO hours), washed about 5 loads of laundry, re-set my dining room table from Christmas stuff to regular stuff, etc.
Unfortunately, I didn't leave myself very much to do for Sunday. I ended up kind of creating things around the house to do to keep myself busy.
One thing that did keep me busy, though, was planning a birthday party. No, not for my husband or kids, but for our beloved Butterscotch. Landry woke up yesterday morning and announced that it was Butterscotch's 5th birthday. Her OCD self would NOT let it go until we had a party for Butterscotch complete with a cake, balloons, a "princess" theme, and friends.

Then, as a special treat for Landry, we let her sleep in her Dora tent (indoors!!). We set it up in the guest room and I slept in the bed next to the tent. Landry wasn't very tired when she went to bed last night (I was, however) and she kept sitting up and talking to me through the "window". Ugh!
Needless to say, I'm ready to get back into our routine.....

Add me to the list of crazies:) I get to stay home tomorrow too because Campbell is sick. I may have to escape to Sam's Club for a little bit though.
Thanks for posting on my blog. Your kids are so cute. And, hello, giant stuffed horse in the pic! I don't know why, but it made me laugh :)
Oh, yeah, Holly...the giant stuffed horse was THE GIFT for Christmas!! Her name is Butterscotch...and she is five years old. ;)
Great Birthday Party!!
And how fun with the tent (for Landry, not you!) My sisters and I used to love to 'camp out' in our house.
We're sitting at 38 degrees, no ice yet.
Don't worry Courtney - I took down my tree this weekend, too - your girls are beautiful, BTW - I'm so glad Marilyn gave me your site - you make me laugh!
Hi Kara!! So glad you left a comment--I need to catch up on what's going on with you!! You look so pretty in your picture!
What a gorgeous family you have. Your girls are too cute!
We just took our tree down on the 10th, so ours was up for quite a time too. Sounds like it was quite a party for "butterscotch" hehe. Too cute.
