Facebook Files

I've gotten in the habit of either "statusing" something on Facebook or taking a quick pic and texting my family whenever something happens around here--instead of blogging.

But, since nothing super noteworthy has happened lately (February is a really slow month for us) and this is our "scrapbook", I figured I'd share in greater detail previous Facebook statuses.

A couple of weeks ago, Korley's teacher called me during the school day (which coincided with my work day and happened to be THE busiest work day of the month) (and Jeff was out of town) and said that Korley had stuck a bead up her nose and they couldn't get it out and Korley was complaining that it hurt.  Awesome.  I went and picked her up and assessed the situation and realized there was NO WAY I was going to be able to deliver this bead on my own.  I was in awe of how she even got it in her nose--it wasn't necessarily on the small side.  So, we went to the doctor.  It took three adults holding her down, but alas the bead was born!  :)

And, in case anyone was worried, there was no damage to the inside of her nose and as far as I know, she's not terrified of doctor's offices.  However, she was irked that the doctor threw the bead away before she had a chance to say she wanted to keep it.  (ew)

Korley had been begging me for a while to get her hair cut.  So, I took her to get it cut one afternoon.  She told the "haircutter" that she wanted it cut like mine (bless), but I stepped in and suggested something less mom-ish.  They were super slow, so the haircutter spent some extra time styling her hair and applying glitter shapes to her face.  Needless to say, glitter and sparkles are Korley's love language and Korley loved every bit of it.

The multiple ponytail holders is not my favorite look, but Korley now asks for it all the time!

The following day, I took her to a friend's birthday party.  This was a picture of the group as the magic show was starting.  Notice Korley is sitting near the back.

It didn't take her long before she starting inching her way toward the front.

Out of skepticism?  Or astonishment?

Astonishment......

Landry came home from school a few days ago with this paper in her backpack.  See the first sentence she wrote at the bottom.....

She told us that she thought the Pope was someone that yodeled.

I have no idea where she got that idea.

And, I feel the need to say that the funny thing is that Landry doesn't dislike anyone!  I seriously can't remember a time when she's said something unkind about anyone--even yodelers!

Korley started T-ball last week.  Lord have mercy.  She is not only THE youngest kid on the team, but she's also only one of two girls.  So far, the only interest she has shown in T-ball was when we shopped for equipment (hello pink glove, purple bat, and socks with stars on them!).

She had practice tonight and the coach would throw the ball her direction and tell her to run and get it and throw it to 1st.  Apparently, she would hunch over, walk heavy-footed, swing her arms and walk slowly to get the ball---think Snuffleupagus......

Should be one long t-ball season....

Although the girls have their own rooms, they always sleep in Korley's room in her bed and trundle.  I like this arrangement because there will come a time when they will want to be on their own and not want to share a room, but right now they love being together. The other night I went in to Korley's room to put some things away after they were asleep and they were sleeping like this.

Melt. My. Heart.

This past Saturday, Landry, Lulu, and I ran/walked the Cowtown 5K.  All of the Aledo schools have teams and there are TONS of school kids and parents that participate.  It was a lot of fun!

And bonus?  There was a man set up in his front yard with a microphone and guitar on the route and he was YODELING!  Totally serious!

Dislike!

Landry ran/walked with her two best buds, Frankie and Emma.  They all held hands for the entire race!  So cute (and so sweaty)!!

Happy March!!

Great post. Love it - even snorted (oops - at work...) about the yodeling pope.

Glad you had a healthy baby bead. What a mess.

Great pics!

Don't blame Korley for wanting to keep the gross bead. I mean, she likely went to a lot of trouble of getting it stuck up there.

Also love that her favorite part of t-ball seems to be buying the pink/purple equipment!

The Pope sentence is hysterical!

Did the yodeler on the Cowtown 5K route have any features resembling the Pope? I'm thinking if I ever hear anyone yodel again in my lifetime, I will not only think of Landry, but also, the Pope!

And, of course, Korley would be ALL about "style" when it comes to T-ball.

I especially like the pink rattail that the haircutter gave Korley.

Hysterical!! I think I left a comment on FB about the Pope comment, but it was made even funnier when I read about the Cowtown yodeler. So glad you blogged about these events. They are ones you will want to remember.

Also, love the picture of the girls holding hands. So sweet.
