I know there will be a day in the not-too-distant future (I'm talking to you July and August!) when I will look back upon last week and long for it. But, not today. Last week and its 4 days of being homebound are too fresh on my mind!
We woke up to lots of ice on the ground last Tuesday, which of course, caused school to be canceled. Wednesday and Thursday didn't get out of the 20s, so school was canceled again on those days. Then, Friday, we got several inches of snow and still had below freezing temps, so school was canceled for the 4th day in a row--unprecedented!
I'm all for a snow day here and there, but I don't like being "confined" to home for a long period of time!
The girls were great and loved playing in the snow (ice) every day.
Day 1--playing in the ice....(ice/snow--it's all the same to kids!)
Our sled--which we also happen to use as the lid to our Christmas light storage bin
Day 4--the actual snow. It was pretty to see our house and yard so white.
Don't you just want to take the Nestea plunge? :)
Our driveway is *somewhere* under here!
This child in the cold....warms my heart.
These two warm my heart, too! Jeff and Landry are building an igloo. Shortly after this picture was taken, project igloo was abandoned. This is as big as it got.
The hardest part about having the girls home most of last week is that Jeff and I both work from home. And, the first week of the month is always my busiest. So, even though I would have been busy had they been at school, it was even harder with them at home wanting to play!
Among riding their scooters a million miles IN the house, playing games, watching TV and movies, and helping me do some cooking, the girls did a lot of crafting--particularly painting.
{By the way, all of these remaining pics are from my phone, so excuse any poor quality!!}
I may be somewhat biased, but I love Landry's artwork. She's always been able to draw/paint.
Here are her paintings (which she named) :)
"Mr. Macaw"
"Scuba Diving"
"Pelican in Oil Spill"
She didn't like what she wrote after Pelican, so she smudged it out--otherwise, it's a great picture!
We went to a Super Bowl party last night at our friends that live in Frisco. Fortunately, they had just enough snow remaining in the backyard to make a "cooler". :)
The "burn barrel" was a big hit amongst the men and young. Landry reminds me a lot my brother when he was her age--like my brother, Landry is quite the little pyro! Every time I turned around, she was poking around or adding something to the fire!!
The temps fell again quite a bit last night and Jeff found this hat that had built-in hair. It's been a while since Jeff's had hair, but if *this* is what he would look like again with hair, I'll take bald any day!! :)

Love the picture of your house with snow all around it! Beautiful!
I can't imagine how hard it was to work with the kids home. That is how my part time job ended!
If my mom's report of the weather in Amarillo is correct, it looks like you may have more crafts at your house this week!
