Jeff's birthday!

Today is Jeff's birthday!

We had a great birthday celebration weekend!  The girls spent the night with PopPop and Gigi Friday night and Jeff and I had a  date night.  We just went to dinner, but it's always a nice occasional break to just cut up your own food and not have to go somewhere that has kids' menus and balloons!

We took the girls to Six Flags on Saturday for 'Holiday in the Park'.  It was Korley's first time to go.  She rode everything she was big enough to ride, and cried when she wasn't allowed on the rides she wanted to ride.  I love that my kids aren't afraid of "scary" rides!  Although Six Flags was pretty busy, we had a great time--and, I enjoyed being there far more when it was 50 degrees than 100 degrees!

Today was Jeff's actual birthday and we had a fairly low-key day--just church, lunch, football, and the grocery store, typical Sunday.  This evening, though, Jeff chose to go to our nearby hibachi grill restaurant for his birthday dinner.  So good--even the girls (mostly) ate their food!

We came home and had sopapilla cheesecake and opened cards.  Jeff got an ipad about a month ago as an early birthday present, which pretty much ate up the budget for any other gift, so....just cards it was tonight! :)

Just a quick note about Landry--she is seriously one of the sweetest kids ever.  She woke up before anyone else this morning and made Jeff a card.  It's in the shape of a football (of course) and says:

"I really want to say......every champ has their day and today is yours Daddy!  Happy birthday! Love, Landry"

And, it's written in red and black (Tech colors).

She loves her daddy and LOVES to make people feel special!
