A few days after Christmas, we went to my college friends' annual Post-Christmas Christmas party. We've been doing this for years because it's just easier to try to get together after Christmas--while everyone's still in town, but usually less busy!
We took a few pics of Landry and Korley before we left. Korley has picked up some sort of "red carpet" pose from somewhere. Whenever she sees the camera pointed at her, she does this leg out/hands on the hips thing.
Or, the turn around and look over your shoulder thing. Little Miss Sass.
Here I am with some of my favorite college friends--Jenny, Ann, Erin, and Andrea. Unfortunately, there were three girlies in our group that couldn't be there, but hopefully they'll be there next year!
Um, sadly I have nothing to report for New Year's Eve. We had planned to go to a party hosted by one of our old neighbors, but Korley was running a fever that day and the night before so New Year's Eve plans were changed. Pathetically, I was in bed by about 10:30.
On Alamo Bowl game day, though, we went to our friends' house, the Lowrys, for a bowl watching party.
My mom and sister made "Team Leach" shirts for all of us.
....and Landry designed the back of her and Korley's shirt.
We got to the Lowry's early so the kids could all play. There were millions of kids everywhere.
Here's two of them.
Here's another--this one belongs to me.
There were even some cows that stopped by the yard.
And, lots of babies. Here's little Miss Jane.
And, another baby. Little Miss Sadie.
The guys swarmed the shrimp cocktail like piranhas.
The next day we packed up busted the Suburban seams and headed back to Lubbock.
When we got back to Lubbock, we noticed we still had some leftover snow from the previous week's snow fall in parts of our yard and driveway.
By the way, what you see above? That's what we in West Texas call a shed--that's not our garage. Our garage is that little thing on the left-hand side of the picture below.
The girls got to play in our little bit of snow in the driveway.
Jeff with the shovel? He said he was building an igloo.
Snow angels.....
Eskimo....
Our neighbors dog had puppies a few weeks ago. The daddy is a golden retriever and the momma is blue heeler/border collie mix. She had 5 puppies and Landry has campaigning hard for one of the pups.
The other night, all of the puppies got out and our neighbors weren't home. We put them in our backyard until they got home, which Landry was THRILLED about.
Here she is with Brinley.
This one's Boo.
And, this one's Bubba. This is the one our neighbor wants us to take because he's really laid back (read "lazy"). I'm not kidding, I've never seen such a lazy puppy. The only problem is he's already huge. His paws are as big as dinner plates.
Here's a close-up of Bubba's face. I know he'll find a good home.....far, far away from our backyard!

Love those cute personalized t-shirts!
I see another puppy in the works for Landry's 8th birthday; I think his name is Bubba! What is your neighbor's phone number? Jeff, come on; join Team Landry and Team Gigi on this one!!! How cute are those puppies? Precious! Which one did Korley put under her shirt?
Does Baxter like Bubba?
Spotted-Bird and Noonie---thank you for complimenting the shirts! They were fun for Lulu and me to make!
Ok, those pups are going to be giants! Giant dog=giant poop! I'm not sure Landry has factored that in.
Love your little red carpet girl! Has she been watching E?
Also love your Team Leach shirts! I want one!
"Red carpet pose"...love it! Ellie does that as well. Sometimes she even gets on the ground and rolls around like a playboy model. A little worrisome.
I love the Team Leach shirts. And, omg, how cute are those puppies?! I would totally be tempted to keep one.
