Oh Hail!

People, I promise I'm not trying to turn this into a weather blog. But, it seems like that is what it's becoming.

Next thing you know, I'll be eating at Luby's at 4:30, joining a bridge club, and stop using my turn signal.

However, once again, we got some pretty incredible weather here today.

Landry and I got in the car to go to gymnastics this afternoon and it wasn't even raining. But before we were even out of the neighborhood it had starting hailing. I made the decision to skip gymnastics and go back home. By the time I had pulled into the garage we were already getting quarter-sized hail. And, within a few minutes we were getting hail bigger than golf ball size.

I seriously thought our windows in our living room were going to break. The hail was coming in sideways and banging against the windows.

The blurry white things is hail coming down. If you click on the pictures you can see it in larger detail.

We hunkered down in the basement waiting on the "red" to pass!

Hi! I discovered your site from Sweet Cheeky Designs and have enjoyed blog stalking you. I'm coming out as one of your blog readers to say I remember a storm exactly like that when I was in Lubbock going to law school! It was horrible. I think it did bust out some windows around town and I had to have work done to my car even though it was parked under covered parking.

Also I enjoyed the picutre of your tv and seeing "my old" weatherguy!

Why do you guys use such small golf balls in Lubbock?

I'm still chuckling about the old people reference!!

Actually yours and Kara's wit remind me of each other!

I see the trampoline is at least useable!! :)

Those of us that eat at Luby's at
4:30 PM have less heartburn!

Your pics will certainly come in handy if you have an insurance claim. Crazy weather! I am so jealous that you have a basement; but more importantly, I am so glad you two made it back to the house before the "big" stuff fell out of the sky!

I had about 5 calls yesterday about the weather. I like your report because it comes with pictures. Glad y'all are okay.

Next time I am in Lubbock I will let you know. We can set up a time for a braid session. We will just line the girls up and start braiding.

Hasn't the trampoline been through enough?!

I missed the storm as we had left town that morning. My parents went to our house to make sure our sky lights weren't broken (they were fine). I guess like everyone else, I'll be calling the insurance adjuster to come look at our roof. I love your pictures- now I can see what it was like!
